Kia Motors of America (KMA) unveiled the new 2017 Kia Forte at the North American International Auto Show earlier this month. This new and refreshed Forte sedan has received a few visual changes, such as a new front bumper with the Kia “tiger nose” grille that now extends the full width between the headlamps. Other exterior updates include more Euro-Sport styling incorporated in the body shape and redesigned, rear tailights that will be available with optional LED lamps.
Under the hood the 2017 Kia Forte has a new 2.0-liter 4-cylinder powertrain built for improved fuel economy and performance. New Forte drivers will be able to choose a driving mode to fit their preference by selecting Normal, Eco or Sport settings. Other driver assist features will include Autonomous Emergency Braking, Front Collision Warning, Lane Change Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, and Rear-Cross Traffic Alert.
This new Kia Forte will be offered in three trim levels; the base LX model, a sporty S model and the premium EX model. The LX and S trim levels will have upgraded cloth seats and an exclusive black cloth with white stitching will be available for the S model. To further the sporty feel of the S model, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, new sport-tuned suspension, 16-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, rear spoiler and a chrome exhaust tip have been added.
The premium EX model will feature leather seats throughout, heated front seats, dual zone temperature control, push button start, Kia’s Smart Key system, LED taillights, front door pocket lighting and 17-inch alloy wheels. Both the S and EX models will also be equipped with a new 7-inch color touch screen connected to a suite of core smartphone functions via Android Auto and Apple CarPlayTM allowing drivers to easily stream music, send text messages and look up driving directions quickly and safely.
